A vacuum interrupter provides the switching medium, but reliable application also depends on breaker duty, mechanism condition, control circuits, racking, shutters, interlocks and protection coordination.

For replacement or retrofit, physical dimensions and interfaces are as important as electrical ratings. Existing drawings, nameplates, panel photographs and operating history reduce compatibility risk.

VCB Solutions for 11 kV and 33 kV Systems

System voltage and equipment voltage class are related but not identical. The selected VCB and switchgear assembly must match the applicable system, insulation, fault-duty and project requirements.

11 kV System Applications

Typically associated with selected 12 kV-class VCB equipment, subject to system insulation level, rated current, breaking capacity, panel construction and approved specification.

33 kV System Applications

Typically associated with selected 36 kV-class equipment, subject to the approved switchgear arrangement, protection requirements, site conditions and manufacturer documentation.
